Avocado Oil Case

As an ambitious global tank operator, we support emerging markets with future-proof logistics solutions. The avocado oil industry in East Africa is a strong example of how a forward-looking approach can not only improve delivery reliability, but also transform an entire supply chain.

The challenge

The East African avocado oil industry was accustomed to exporting in flexitanks and had little to no familiarity with ISO tanks. Although flexitanks were common, this method posed risks for such a valuable product. Leakage, damage and equipment shortages occur on a regular basis. Our challenge was to introduce ISO tanks as a safer, more reliable and efficient way to export avocado oil.

Our approach

To build trust and demonstrate the value of our ISO tank solution, the Van den Bosch team has met several avocado oil producers in Kenya and Tanzania. During these visits, we presented our ISO tank capabilities, explained the operational and safety advantages, and showed how this method could greatly improve the quality and security of their supply chain.

The impact

Two East African producers were the first to adopt ISO tanks, quickly experiencing the benefits. Their success encouraged other manufacturers to follow, creating a strong industry shift. Today, Van den Bosch exports nearly five hundred ISO tanks of avocado oil per year from East Africa. An impressive growth built on proven results and trust.
